Commercial Court Team Pays Courtesy Call On the Chief Justice

On Friday February 10,2023, the Head of the Commercial Court, Hon. Justice Stephen Mubiru together with his Deputy, Hon. Lady Justice Anna Mugenyi Bitature, paid a courtesy call on the Chief Justice, Hon. Justice Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny - Dollo at the Judiciary Headquarters in Kampala.
The purpose of the visit was to present a token of appreciation from the East African Court of Justice, that was hosted last year in November.
Hon. Lady Justice Mugenyi read a special message to the Chief Justice from the EACJ President expressing his gratitude to the Ugandan CJ for the support extended to the Court during their stay in Uganda.
The other discussions were in regards to the increment of the number of Judges at the Division, state of the art ICT system that include tele & video conferencing facilities, session funds increment and fast tracking of cases.
The Chief Justice appreciated the token presented to him. He went on to thank the Court for the great work they did when they hosted the EACJ. He promised to meet their request of increasing the number of Judges at the Division and push for more ICT equipment so as to enhance access to justice at the Division and the entire Judiciary as a whole.
Hon. Justice Richard Wejuli Wabwire (who also doubles as a Judge of Frist Instance in the EACJ) and HW Juliet Harty Hatanga (Deputy Registrar, Commercial Court) witnessed the handover.
